i really didn't like most fenders as a kid. strats were ok (hendrix and blackmore played 'em), but the rest seemed seemed ugly, wimpy and designed for twang-music... not exactly what i had in mind when i was 16. it never dawned on me that i could get that ever elusive replacements/paul westerburg sound by blasting a tele through a marshall half-stack. also tastes great with my boogie brand amp.
